Poland Jazz from 1963-75
Before the Jazzanova deejay/production team were compiling selections for their West Germany jazz compilation Forum West, they put together another brilliant European jazz compilation titled Polish Jazz. This release, which came out on Jazzanova Compost Records (JCR) in the late nineties, features rare jazz gems from Poland during the years 1963-75. The record is solid from start to finish and includes seven amazing selections featuring notable Polish musicians Jerzy Milian, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Zbigniew Namyslowski and others. This compilation has been out-of-print for a while, therefore I was happy to find a used copy of this compilation a few weeks ago at Stranded, which is one of the East Bay's newest record shops. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for fans of Jazzanova's other European jazz comps!
