Continuing my tribute to The Cookers and the many legendary jazz musicians that make up the band, here is Cecil McBee's funky spiritual masterpiece "Tulsa Black". This rare gem was one of the highlights off of his 1974 album Mutima, which was released on the Strata-East label. This represented McBee's first recording as a leader. Definitely some of the bassist's best recorded work. Enjoy!
