Pharaoh Sanders - Love is Everywhere

With today being Valentines Day, I thought it would be appropriate to post one of my favorite "love" songs in Pharaoh Sanders' 1974 "Love is Everywhere". This amazing spiritual jazz masterpiece was included on Pharoah's hard-to-find Impulse released recording Love In Us All. The date features a solid lineup that includes Joe Bonner (piano), James Branch (flute), Cecil McBee (bass), Norman Connors (drums), as well as James Mtume and few others on additional percussion. Even though the record only contains two long tracks, including the free jazz cut "Dear John" dedicated to John Coltrane, Love In Us All is considered by many jazz critics and fans as one of Pharoah's greatest albums. The perfect kind of spiritual jazz record on a day dedicated to "love".
