Joe Henderson - Power To The People
During the late sixties and seventies, saxophonist Joe Henderson recorded and released a number of amazing albums off of Milestone Records. Some of those releases included Tetragon, In Pursuit Of Blackness, Black Is The Color, Multiple, as well as today's featured record Power To The People. Many critics and fans consider the 1969 album, Henderson's greatest recording date. The release includes many great tracks including "Black Narcissus", the title track "Power To The People", "Afro-Centric", "Foresight And Afterthought" and others. Henderson is backed on this session with a heavy-weight group of legendary musicians including Ron Carter (bass), Herbie Hancock (electric piano), Mike Lawrence (trumpet), and Jack DeJohnette (drums). Overall, a defining recording session for one of the most notable post-bop tenor saxophonist in jazz history.
