Let's start the week off with a highlight off of Marion Brown's impressive 1968 ESP-Disk release Why Not? titled "La Sorrella". This record which was recorded live, has an overall spiritually free feel to it, which was a prominent characteristic found in many of the late saxophonist's recordings. The supporting cast features Stanley Cowell (piano), Norris Jones (bass), and Rashied Ali on drums. A great release from one of the leaders of the sixties avant-garde free jazz movement.
