Congratulations to the recently announced 2013 NEA Jazz Masters honorees Mose Allison, Lou Donaldson, Lorraine Gordon and Eddie Palmieri. A very deserving group of jazz musicians and innovators.
The NEA will again partner with Jazz at Lincoln Center to produce an awards ceremony and concert in honor of the 2013 NEA Jazz Masters, that will be webcast live on Monday, January 14, 2013 on arts.gov and jalc.org/neajazzmasters.
Also on a side note, the next SFJAZZ Hotplate, which will take place Thursday, August 9th, will feature Rebeca Mauleón paying tribute to Eddie Palmieri. I'll be spinning choice selections from my personal Latin collection. Should be a lot of fun, therefore definitely don't miss out on that event!
