Here is one of the many soul-jazz classics from Gary Bartz in "Uhuru Sasa". This funky jazz cut was featured on Bartz' 1971 album Harlem Bush Music - Uhuru and features his backing group the NTU Troop which on this record includes Ron Carter (bass), Andy Bey (vocals), Harold White (drums) and others. During the Harlem Bush Music sessions, which resulted in two albums, Bartz and company do an incredible job of bringing together both soulful vocals and funky rhythms with an overall spiritualism that can be found in the compositions message and groove.
