Today I thought I would feature the title track off another one of my favorite Strata-East releases in Shamek Farrah & Sonelius Smith's 1977 The World Of The Children. This jazz gem represents just one of five amazing tracks included on this album. The recording features a quintet that includes Joesph Gardner (trumpet), Sonelius Smith (piano), Kiyoto Fuiwara (bass), Freddie Wrenn (drums), Tony Waters (additional percussion), and Shamek Farrah on saxophone. Overall the title track, as well as the entire record, has a similar sound as other classic Strata-East releases, combining soulful rhythms along with an explosive spiritual-jazz feel. Enjoy!
