Pat Les Stache - Calypsoul Boogie

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I was on vacation last week, hangin' out down south in Santa Barbara for a few days. Now that I'm back and fully rested, expect much more daily posts from here on out. So, check back again soon and often!

Here is another re-edit I just posted on my SoundCloud page, tentatively titled "Calypsoul Boogie". It has an overall 70's era Caribbean disco feel, similar as my last re-edit "The Congo Shuffle". Ideally, I would like to put out both of these Caribbean-style re-edits together on twelve-inch release, hopefully in the near future. I'll continue to keep everyone posted on the possibility of that idea coming to fruition and other future releases that are in the works. As always, would enjoy any feedback! ENJOY!

Pat Les Stache - The Congo Shuffle

Even though I've have a ton of things in the works lately, unfortunately it's been a while since I posted a new re-edit. That being said, here is the most recent edit I've completed, which I tentatively titled "The Congo Shuffle". I would describe this track as a Caribbean disco-funk jam that features a heavy dose of steel drums and percussion breaks. At this point there is nothing I can share about a vinyl release date for this edit, however I am expecting to put it out as soon as I can organize how that is exactly going to be done. Like always, would love everyone's feedback! ENJOY!

Also, I recommend checking out my SoundCloud page, as I plan to be posted more edits, mixes and remixes in the coming weeks!

Pat Les Stache - Freedom Cry!

It's been way too long since the last time I posted an edit, therefore I though I would feature the latest track I just completed, tentatively titled "Freedom Cry!". The original track is featured on one of my all-time favorite African disco records (Any guesses?) Anyways, I'm hoping to include this re-edit on a future release sometime soon. I will certainly keep everyone posted, once more details come to light. As always, please let me know what you think regarding the new track.

Also, I recommend checking out my SoundCloud page which features many more of my recent edits.

Pat Les Stache - Jungle Flute

It's been a couple of weeks since my new 12" The Spirit Rides Again was released and so far, the record has received an overwhelming great response. If you haven't picked up a copy of the new release and are interested, I highly recommend doing so soon as there are only a limited amount of copies available. Thanks again to everyone who has shown support for not only this release, but all of my Cabana Disco releases as well. I'm working on trying to get a couple new twelves out before the year is over.

Here is a brand new re-edit, titled "Jungle Flute", that I recently did reworking a jazz-funk version of Bob Marley & The Wailers' mid-seventies classic "Concrete Jungle". As you can imagine, the track has a bit of a laid back funk groovin' reggae feel that is heavy on the "jazz flute" (Ron Burgundy anyone?). Anyways, I would love to hear what people think of the edit, so please comment below and tell me your thoughts. ENJOY!

Pat Les Stache - The Spirit Rides Again

I'm excited to announce that my new re-edit 12" on the Finland based label Kojak Giant Sounds is out now in stores worldwide! The new release features two edits with the first being "The Spirit Rides Again", which basically sounds like a 70's era B-movie raceway theme song. while the B-side, titled "Odeiyolaoo Mambo" is a funky Afro-Latin dancefloor jam. Fans of my Cabana Disco releases should definitely enjoy this record. I think DJ Mag summed up the release nicely with this statement way back in February, "Cop show style disco-funk with brass and wah-wah; backed with a monster mambo cut. Perfect for your winter pool party." On a personal note, this record features two of my favorite edits that I've laid down on vinyl. As always, there are limited copies, so get a while you can! ENJOY!

Pat Les Stache - Ritual Dance

It's been a little while since I posted my last edit. The good news is that I have a few new edits, including one today, that I'll start rolling out in the next couple of weeks. So stay tuned….

Here is an edit, titled "Ritual Dance", that will be featured on the upcoming Cabana Disco vol.06 12", which will be released later this spring. The track is a reworking of a rare percussion-heavy African song from 1969. The song was included on a record I picked up while I was visiting Paris a couple of years ago. I'd been meaning to do an edit of the original for quite sometime, and therefore was happy to get this track finally finished. As always, please let me know what you think!

Re-edit: Afro Boogie Woman

Here is an updated re-edit of Malinga Five's 1977 Afro-funk classic "Kaloule Woman". There's not much different about this newer version of the edit (which I originally did about a year ago) other than some updated tweaking to the overall EQ. Regardless I thought I would post the track on this site and on my SoundCloud page. I would love to hear some feedback from everyone since I'm very much considering including this version of the edit on the upcoming Cabana Disco vol.06 12". Let me know what you think!

Re-edit: Odeiyolaoo Mambo

Note: This is a re-posting from the American Athlete Blog. I thought it would be practical to include the posting on this site as well.

I'm excited to announce that my next re-edit 12" will be released by the Finland based label Kojak Giant Sounds. Over the last two years this label, which is run by DJ Ionik, has teamed up with some major heavy weight producers/deejays including Beatfanatic, Mike Burns, Leftside Wobble, Maxxi Soundsystem, Rayko, Nicholas Iammatteo and others to release some of the best disco/ boogie edits out there. My release with this label should be out sometime later this fall/winter and will feature two edits, which you can hear by checking out Kojak Giant Sounds SoundCloud page. I'll continue to keep everyone posted as to the actual release of the new record once I have that information. Enjoy!
