Buddy Terry - Abscretions
With tomorrow being the 'First Friday' addition of SAY IT LOUD! at Disco Volante in Oakland, today I thought I would feature the funky jazz cut "Abscretions" by saxophonist Buddy Terry. This soulful gem was one of the standout selections on Terry's 1971 Mainstream Records release Awareness. This Bob Shad produced session also features Cecil Bridgewater (trumpet), Roland Prince (guitar), Stanley Cowell (piano), Buster Williams (electric bass), Mickey Roker (drums) and percussionist Mtume.Overall, another solid soul jazz release from Shad's Mainstream label.
