Blue Mitchell - The People in Nassau

On the heels of my recent Hawaiian vacation, I thought I would feature the tropical jazz gem "The People in Nassau" by legendary trumpeter Blue Mitchell. This funky "Bahamas-styled groover" was featured on Mitchell's 1967 record Heads Up! (released on Blue Note Records). The session features an incredible cast of musicians including McCoy Tyner (piano), Pepper Adams (baritone saxophone), Junior Cook (tenor saxophone), Julian Priester (trombone), Al Foster (drums) and others. One of the many solid recordings from Mitchell during his time with Blue Note Records.
