This Thursday night is the next SFJAZZ Hotplate event. This month local vocalist Scheherazade Stone pays tribute to jazz-funk/soul/spoken word legend Gil Scott-Heron. With that being said, I thought today I would feature the funky soulful gem "Willing" from the 1980 recording Gil Scott-Heron wrote with multi-instrumentalist and long time music counterpart Brian Jackson. This is just one of the many classic tracks written and produced by the incredible duo during the seventies and early eighties. Look for a new "Gil Scott-Heron mix" later in the week! ENJOY!
